Vanderlei Luxemburgo says that the Corinthians squad cannot fear the next games

Corinthians coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, demonstrated confidence in the team’s emotions to face the next duels. According to the coach, players need to be brave to win this sequence of matches.

“It’s everything a football player needs. The journalist, when he is going to do an interview with someone of the caliber of Pelé or Zico, is all he has to want”, he stated. “The sequel is good because it’s heavy. It’s Corinthians, with a chance to win and find themselves. If you’re afraid of that streak, you don’t have to play for Corinthians. Here, it’s high-level thinking: “Let’s go upstairs.”

This Sunday (14th), Corinthians plays against São Paulo, in a derby at Neo Química Arena.

“In a classic, the motivation comes by itself. If we win against São Paulo, confidence returns, it’s a six-point game, a classic. Let’s go in search of winning too to bring back the confidence”, said forward Roger Guedes.

After the classic, Alvinegro continues with a full agenda and will face the duel against Atlético-MG in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The matches will take place on the 17th and 31st, with the first leg in Belo Horizonte and the return leg in São Paulo. In the competition, a major factor is the financial issue: the champion takes R$ 70 million.

For the Brasileirão, Timão still faces Flamengo and Fluminense, on May 21 and May 28, respectively. The matches against the two clubs from Rio could contribute to moving the team away from the relegation zone.

Corinthians also has an appointment scheduled against Argentinos Juniors, in a match valid for the 4th round of Group E of the Libertadores.
