Analysis of action against Flávio Bolsonaro for possible connection with militia is postponed by the Ethics Council
This Wednesday (14), the Ethics Council decided to postpone the analysis of a representation made by PT, PSOL and Rede against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). The parties accuse the congressman of having some involvement with the militia in Rio de Janeiro.
The analysis appeared as the second item on the agenda that would be analyzed this Wednesday, this included 12 more representations. The president of the Ethics Council, Jayme Campos (União Brasil – MT), at the moment when he began reading the representation against Jair Bolsonaro’s son, claimed that he would withdraw the agenda because he considered that it awaits an opinion from the Senate’s lawyers for the case.
According to Jayme Campos, the opening of processes aimed at investigating the conduct of senators does not consider the merits, that is, the content of the accusation. He reinforced that representation is only evaluated if it meets the regulatory requirements necessary to proceed.
Senator Flavio Bolsonaro did not attend the session that would assess his possible involvement with the militia. Furthermore, he has yet to present a formal defense to the Senate against the indictment he received. Although the parliamentarian has always denied his involvement with this type of organization.
According to the representation, PSOL accuses the parliamentarian of having a strong connection with the militias that take part in Rio de Janeiro. The caption states that there are numerous proofs that point to intimate relationships between the senator and important members of the Rio de Janeiro militia, the text also recalls the exposed relationship between the parliamentarian and Captain Nóbrega, who was killed in Esplanada, Bahia.
The PSOL representation still bears the name of Adriano da Nóbrega, who was a militiaman from Rio de Janeiro who died during a confrontation with police officers in Bahia, in early 2020. Both the militiaman’s mother and wife worked as advisors to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rio de Janeiro, it states that Adriano da Nóbrega was involved in the scheme that became known as “crack”, where senator employees sent him part of their salaries.
