Fifth death from dengue in Agudos: Learn how to prevent it!

The fifth death happened this Thursday (29), said the Health Department of Agudos (SP). The disease caused by the dengue mosquito is spreading and increasingly harming the population.

The victim was 29 years old, with no evidence of comorbidities, dying on June 11, 2023. Previously, the city had recorded more deaths of people with different ages, three men aged 64, 71 and 81 years old, and one woman, 82 years old, both victims of the disease. Not counting the cases also registered: more than 2,373 cases throughout the year.

How to prevent?

Here are some factors that can attract the mosquito that transmits dengue:

• Filter water trimmers
• Garbage bag disposal area
• Air conditioning/fridge trays
• Bathrooms/Sanitary facilities
• Water tanks/Reservoirs/Water tank
• Casks, barrels and tanks
• Water passage boxes
• Gutters
• elevator machine rooms
• General of external areas
• Outdoor area drains

Unfortunately, it is very common for many people to have these habits due to lack of information, bringing great harmful consequences to the health and well-being of the citizen. Below are the many ways to prevent these events:

• Minimizing standing water in closed and open places can be a good ally when it comes to avoiding the virus, as well as not leaving rubble in the backyard or on the streets, as well as leaving standing water in tires, which many forget;
• Keep the trash can properly covered and sanitized;
• Putting earth or sand in dishes of plant vases;
• Keep all empty bottles or buckets upside down;
• Decrease the number of water fountains for dogs, cats and birds and always keep the aquarium clean and closed.

With simple care it is possible to avoid fatal consequences. Prevention awareness is essential so that future deaths caused by dengue are avoided.
