Football team rescued from Thai cave

Soon a series can be seen on Netflix about the football team Wild Boars, which got stuck in a Thai cave together with the coach in 2018. The Hollywood Reporter reports Tuesday that the streaming platform will release a six-part series about the team’s experiences on September 22.

The series was shot partly in the cave and partly in the homes of the footballers. Boys from the region have been cast for the football team.

Director Michael Russell Gunn (Designated Survivor), Dana Ledoux Miller (Narcos) and Baz Poonpiriya tell the story from the boys’ perspective. The experiences of family members and the rescue team are also discussed.

The boys, aged eleven to sixteen, entered the cave on Sunday 23 June 2018 with their 25-year-old trainer. They were attacked by a rain shower and could not leave the cave.

For a long time, their lives were feared. The cave system is complex and dangerous even for experienced divers. Moreover, the weather was not good: due to persistent rain showers, the water level rose and that made the search more difficult.
