Tobirama Senju always defended Konoha in every possible way, also presenting positive points as a Kage, however, his little ability to be a diplomat ended up getting in the way of his leadership of Vila da Folha.

Hiruzen Sarutobi died defending Konoha, which is obviously the gesture of a true ruler, but his journey was also marked by questionable decisions. Interestingly, like Tobirama, one of Hiruzen’s main mistakes involves the Uchiha clan, with Sarutobi being one of the main responsible for the massacre made by Itachi.

Tobirama Senju’s Mistakes

Tobirama Senju was indeed a powerful ninja, but he was also little fan of diplomacy, which is a terrible mistake for a leader. His lack of trust in the Uchiha was also a big problem, causing him to make almost unforgivable mistakes. Tobirama Senju even tried to create stronger bonds with the clan he hated, creating the Konoha Police and handing it over to the Uchiha, however the decision brought only more hatred for the clan in the Village.

Analyzing Tobirama’s hatred for the Uchiha and all his actions, it is possible to conclude that the senju was largely responsible for all the disgrace that dominated the clan over the years. Even though Tobirama was no longer alive in Itachi’s massacre, his ideals obviously kept alive for a long time, resulting in every wave of hatred that was against the clan.

Hiruzen Sarutobi moved everyone with his death, being a true hero for Konoha. However, sacrifice does not erase the mistakes made by the Hokage, and they are not simple. As the longest serving Kage in the village, Sarutobi has done a lot for the village, both good and bad. 

Hatred and all the problems surrounding the Uchiha were a cursed legacy in Konoha after Tobirama’s legacy, but that fact doesn’t excuse Hiruzen. Sarutobi could have paid more attention to the clan’s problems and looked for ways to end the imminent risks of tragedy. 

Sarutobi was a good diplomat, he knew how to negotiate and he knew how to put his ideas easily, however he did not use his skills in relation to the Uchiha. By letting Danzo take care of the situation, the Hokage actually neglected and ended up paving the way for a dire situation.

With his omission, Hiruzen Sarutobi ended up being a major culprit for the Uchiha massacre, as well as being responsible for the unhappy life lived by Itachi and Sasuke, which would end up resulting in new problems years later.

If he hadn’t been responsible for spreading an evident hatred and lack of trust for the Uchiha, Tobirama would have avoided numerous threats that emerged years later, resulting in a snowball of dangers and problems. Therefore, Senju is marked as the worst Hokage in anime .
