Palmeiras announces Richard Ríos as reinforcement for the season

Palmeiras will pay R$ 6 million for 60%, with the possibility of renewal for another year. The defensive midfielder started his career in the youth teams of Flamengo. The rights of the Colombian were 50% for Guarani, 25% for Flamengo and 25% for the athlete. After the negotiation with Palmeiras, it was like this: 60% for Palmeiras, 20% for Flamengo, 10% for Guarani and 10% for the athlete. There is still the option for Verdão to acquire another 10% of the athlete’s rights for R$ 1.5 million.

The midfielder gave an interview to TV Palmeiras: “Happy to be in a club as huge as Palmeiras is, which has been standing out a lot in national and international competitions. I was impressed with the structure, it gives you all the support to be a real professional.” And he further commented that; “I am happy to continue this legacy that the Colombians have left at the club. It will also be an honor to be able to work with Atuesta, another Colombian. Now it’s about doing things the best way and leaving the doors open for other Colombians to come here in the future”.

Palmeiras has a tradition of hiring Colombian players, such as: Rincón, Lozano, Asprilla, Muñoz, Armero, Mina, Borja, Angulo, Atuesta and Ríos.

Palmeiras is eyeing the Paulistão final against Água Santa. The matches will be on April 2 at Arena Barueri and on April 9 at Allianz Parque, both games will be at 4 pm (Brasília time).
