After seven days, the patient can return to social activities and work outside the home. In these first weeks, moderate swelling and bruising are common. “It is important to point out that, today, the nasal plug, which was used after surgery to prevent bleeding, is no longer necessary, as new techniques have made the post-operative period much calmer, providing more comfort for the patientâ€, explains Dr. Paolo. After the first month, sun exposure and physical exercise are allowed and much of the swelling also disappears.

“However, it is common to feel some numbness in the nose for up to six months after surgery and the definitive result of the procedure tends to take up to a year to be definitive.†, highlights the surgeon.
