Twitter crashes during Ron DeSantis candidacy launch
This Wednesday (24), the current governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, planned to announce his candidacy for the presidency of the United States, with the Republican Party, through a call with the owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, through Twitter Spaces.
The only thing the Republican didn’t count on was that during the entire broadcast, the platform’s signal would present instability, which made it very difficult to announce his candidacy.
Investor and friend of Elon Musk, David Sacks, attributed the constant drops to the huge flow of people that the launch of the candidacy attracted, implying that having a huge amount of people watching the call, to the point that the signal had this drop, was not a problem.
“We have so many people here that I think we are kind of melting the servers, which is a good sign” – commented David at the opening of the call
Elon Musk, on the other hand, attributed the drops to the huge amount of people tuned in at the same time on the platform. When the announcement was about to begin to be made, more than 670,000 people were present. After the falls, the number dropped to around 300,000 people.
Technical glitches marred the presidential campaign launch of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) during his May 24 interview with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

Despite Ron DeSantis and Elon Musk having managed to finalize the candidacy speech, the situation still generated some jokes on social networks, by Twitter users, who placed among the most commented topics words like “Launch Error” It is “#DeSaster”
In addition to comments from users of the social network, the current president of the United States, Joe Biden, affiliated with the Democratic Party, wasted no time to take a wave with his opponent.
While the transmission was taking place, Biden published a tweet on his official account, asking for a fundraiser for the re-election of him and his vice president Kamala Harris, with the following sentence “That link works.”
