Ancelotti praises Messi’s possible return to Barcelona, ​​but ponders: “It’s a matter for them”

In a press conference that precedes Real Madrid’s duel against Girona, for the 31st round of La Liga, coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on speculation about Messi’s return to Barcelona next season.

Asked about the possibility, the Italian replied: “Messi can do whatever he wants. That’s not a question for me. I like him as a player and maybe it would be good for the league and Spanish football to have him back. But that’s a matter for Barcelona.”said Ancelotti.

In addition, the coach took the opportunity to address his own issues, starting with the team’s set pieces. “With my technical team, we focus a lot on the work (from set pieces). Not so much defensively, because we play in the zone, but in the offensive plan”declared Ancelotti.

The team commander highlighted the possibility of focusing on this type of training more than the tactical plan, since the team is already in the final stretch of the season. “We worked on individual positioning on the two beams. We have great takers like Kroos, Asensio and Modric and great headers like Rüdiger, Tchouaméni and Militão”he said.
