Bivalent vaccine is released in Rondônia for people from 12 years old
The bivalent vaccine against covid-19 and its variants is already released for children aged at least 12 in Rondônia. However, only a few municipalities had an age reduction (12 years), as in Porto Velho. People aged 18 and over can get vaccinated at health facilities in their municipality from 8 am to 6 pm. According to authorities, there are about 18 vaccination posts spread across the capital. However, the Santo Antônio and Vila Princesa units operated only until 12:00. The information was released by the state of Rondônia.
According to the Municipal Secretary of Health (Semusa), you can only receive the first dose of the bivalent vaccine, if you have already completed the primary scheme of at least two doses of the monovalent vaccines. The last application period needs to be four months. But those who have not yet been vaccinated should start the vaccination schedule to take the new dose available.
Since the end of March, the bivalent vaccine has been available for people aged 12 and over. Immunization against covid is a more up-to-date version and protects the population. Population can look for immunizers in all health units. https://t.co/4j1433jElc

The new vaccine is a version that protects against the variants of covid-19, the original strain, and omicron, the variant that prevailed in the world in 2022. Raising awareness of the use of the vaccine is of great importance, especially for risk groups, such as people with comorbidities, pregnant women and the elderly. “This public is a group that has been greatly affected by covid-19. So it is very important that people with comorbidities get vaccinated so that they are protected against the Omicron variant”, says Maria do Carmo Possidente, coordinator of Epidemiological Surveillance, in an interview with the city hall in a state of São Paulo.
A vaccination campaign needs to be present in all states of Brazil. The World Health Organization claims that because of vaccines, every year, about 2 to 3 million deaths from preventable diseases are avoided. Therefore, it is essential to clarify and inform about the relevance of a vaccinated and safe population.
