Cruzeiro reaches an agreement and plays at Mineirão for the next three years

This Friday, the 28th, representatives of the cruise and the mines arenathe company that manages the Mineirãoreached an agreement after a meeting facilitated by the Government of Minas Gerais. In this way, Raposa will play at the stadium again and has a contract to send its matches until the end of 2025.

In the negotiation, Cruzeiro started from a proposal indicated by Minas Arena, paying a fee of 15% per game and being able to sell the 54,000 seats available at the Mineirão. However, from 2024, the club would have greater gains in this agreement, which was endorsed by the Government of Minas. Prior to that, two of the team’s proposals had been rejected.

However, the detailed details of the negotiation have not yet been disclosed and made official by the parties. To seek this agreement, all fronts involved in the conversation sought legal bases in state bodies. Last week, Cruzeiro had indicated that the story would have an outcome by this Friday, the 28th, with the disclosure and detailing.

It is worth noting that Cruzeiro has not played at Mineirão since November last year. The last match was against CSAfor the last round of Brasileirão Serie B. However, with the agreement signed, the match that should decree the return of Raposa as the home team at the stadium could be against Fluminenseon the 10th of May.

The new contract, despite not being in the way that Cruzeiro envisioned at first, provides for the team to play games at Mineirão until the end of 2025, with a progression in the transfer of profits to the club, increasing each year. Raposa must participate in the maintenance of the field and in the organization of the games it will play at home.
