James Corden and Adele open their hearts in the latest episode of Carpool Karaoke

Friendship, intimacy and complicity. This was the last episode of Carpool Karaoke, with the participation of British singer Adele.

On the air since 2017, Carpool Karaoke is part of the program The late late show, hosted by the British James Corden.

Carpool Karaoke consists of a car ride, where Corden drives and has very important names in music as passengers. In short, it’s a fun interview, where musicians and presenter have fun and sing, while riding in a car.

In the last episode, the order reversed. James was led by singer and friend, Adele. He told her how Carpool started, what the biggest challenges and highlights of the program were.

In addition to a very light and funny conversation, both opened their hearts talking about difficult times they went through and highlighting the friendship they have for each other.

Adele remembered moments from her divorce and thanked her for all the support given by her friend and her family to her and her son Angelo. “You used to do it with humor too, you used to say, ‘Good luck with that one! with whatever kind of thing I was pursuing, and you were always like that, you were like an adult with me, you and Julia always gave me that advice”Adele recalled.

Both also recalled times when Corden was vulnerable due to work and the Internet, and after a conversation with him, Adele was inspired to write the song ‘I drink wine’. “(The verse) was inspired by a conversation you and I had, and it was January 4, 2020 or something, and we were on vacation together with the kids,” explained Adele, who finalized her divorce from Simon in March 2021. ‘ And we were coming home and my mood changed and it was like the first year I felt like I had to take responsibility for just being an adult, whereas the year before that I left Simon and you and Jules and the kids were so integral in take care of me and Angelo,” said the singer.
