The Englishman, seven times world champion, and one of the greatest of all time, left his tribute through a publication on Instagram, with some photos of the Brazilian pilot and the caption with the phrase “Congratulations Ayrton, my inspiration always”all in Portuguese.
It is not the first time that Hamilton pays homage to Ayrton or to the Brazilian people. In 2021, after winning at Interlagos, the British driver decided to celebrate in a way that reminded him of Ayrton Senna, picking up a Brazilian flag and walking around the entire circuit, just as the Brazilian driver did when he won his races.
Other tributes in Formula 1
In addition to Hamilton, who also paid homage to Ayrton Senna within Formula 1, it was McLaren, the team for which Ayrton raced for six years, and which helped him become three-time world champion.
The team published on their social networks remembering 10 significant moments of the Brazilian driver and with the words “The darling of motorsport. On what would have been Ayrton’s birthday, go back in time with some remarkable moments from Senna”.

McLaren’s current CEO, Zak Brown, shared the team’s post, also in the form of a tribute to the Brazilian, with the words “There was no greater legend”.
French driver Pierre Gasly, who is currently racing for the Alpine team, and the official Mercedes profile also left their congratulations.

So far, the current champion Red Bull Racing has been dominating the championship with two doubles in the first few races. Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ championship, just one point ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez.
