players for World Cup – FIFA is setting aside 209 million dollars (about 215 million euros) to compensate clubs that give players to national teams at the World Cup in Qatar. That made the world football association Tuesday known.
It amounts to just over 10,000 euros per player per day. That is a slightly higher amount than four years ago at the World Cup in Russia, when clubs still received about 8,700 euros per day.
Clubs will be reimbursed from 14 November, the Monday after the last league matches. If a player reaches the final, he can be away for 37 days and that gives a club more than 370,000 euros.

The contribution will be distributed among the clubs for which the player has played for the World Cup during the two years. For example, if Ajax player Steven Berghuis is called up for the Dutch national team, his old club Feyenoord will also receive a share.
At the 2018 World Cup, Manchester City received the most money from FIFA’s fund. The English top club received more than 5 million euros.
The World Cup in Qatar will start on 20 November and will conclude on 18 December with the final. The Netherlands starts the tournament on November 21 against Senegal and then plays against Ecuador (November 25) and Qatar (November 29).
