Civil Police find missing 2-year-old child in São Paulo

There were 10 days of apprehension for a family in Santa Catarina due to the disappearance of a 2-year-old child. Civil police investigations led to the whereabouts of the child in São Paulo.

According to the child’s family, a couple from São Paulo, Marcelo Valverde and Roberta Porfírio, were solicited via social networks, in which, taking advantage of the child’s mother’s psychological fragility, they convinced her to hand over the child to them. According to the victim’s brother, his sister has suffered from anxiety attacks since adolescence and had postpartum depression, and has been treated since then, therefore, for the family, the couple took advantage of a moment of psychological weakness in the sister and persuaded to hand over the child.

In an interview with a television network, the brother said that “My sister was a mother very young, very young, at 19 years old. She had her first anxiety attack at 14, so it’s already an emotional bullet. Then this has been going on for a long time in her life, and she’s been treating it. the postpartum depression revived it. So she really ended up giving in to those emotions and what happened happened.”

The civil police of Santa Catarina stated in a press conference that the child’s mother really suffers from psychological disorders and that there really was enticement through social networks, by Marcelo and Roberta. The couple was arrested in Tatuapé, in the capital of São Paulo. At the press conference, the delegate responsible for the case said that “As far as we know, conversations started in support groups for first-time mothers. In that sense, we see that it was really with the intention of kidnapping the child. We never heard of any of these people.”

The Civil Police continues investigations and follows the line that there may have been a financial advantage for the mother, and says that from now on it will ask for the breach of bank secrecy of all the people involved in the case.

It was also said by the delegate responsible that the child only has the mother’s name on her birth certificate, and is looking for the father to obtain his testimony.

The child will return to Santa Catarina, where the family lives, but no date has yet been set, as it depends on the judiciary of São Paulo, where the child is interned in a shelter for minors. The MP of Santa Catarina is already filing an action for the child’s return to Florianópolis, where his family lives.
