Flamengo beats Athletico-PR again and goes to the semi of the Copa do Brasil

O Flamengo won the Athletico-PR 2-0 and qualified for the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. With the triumph this Wednesday, the 12th, the red-black carioca confirmed the aggregate score by 4 to 1 – he won the first leg of the quarterfinals by 2 to 1 – and guaranteed a place in the next phase of the national competition.

With the result guaranteed with goals from Gabi and Erick (own goal), Fla advanced in the Copa do Brasil and will face Grêmio in the decision for a place in the grand final. The team from Rio Grande do Sul is in the semifinals of the tournament after beating Bahia on penalties in a game played in Porto Alegre.

The game

The first dangerous move of the half was from Flamengo, with a ball on the crossbar hit by Ayrton Lucas. Afterwards, Athletico dominated the match and scored the ball very well for Flamengo: Vitor Roque hit the post, Vitor Bueno demanded a great save from Matheus Cunha and Erick was dangerous with a header.

However, Erick ended up scoring against his team. After almost scoring a header for Hurricane, the defensive midfielder tried to ward off the danger when Flamengo arrived, but ended up testing against his own goal in the 44th minute of the first half: 0-1 (3-1 on aggregate for Flamengo).

The game continued in the second stage. At 45 minutes, Thiago Heleno (Athletico) and Gerson (Flamengo) were expelled for confusion started by Vitor Bueno and Gabi.

Three minutes later, when the referee normalized the match, David Luiz received the ball after a short free kick, raised it to Léo Pereira, who adjusted it just right for Gabigol to dominate with the coa and finish between Bento’s legs: 0 to 2 (4 to 0 in the sum of scores).
