The secret of zero cellulite: how the Brazilian Goldincision treatment won the award for the best non-surgical treatment in the world

What is Cellulite?

As I do on a daily basis, I will simplify it as much as possible so that everyone understands what it is. In the body we have three layers, if we look from the inside out, we have the muscle layer, the fat layer and the skin. Cellulite is a fibrosis, which in practice is a structure similar to a scar that forms in the layer of fat. As in every scar, there can be a retraction and with that it pulls specific points of the skin inwards and when we see the region we observe those little holes where a smooth region should be. This gets worse with increased fat or sagging in the region.

How is this method different from other conventional treatments for cellulite:

Today we have many options on the market, from methods, cosmetics and even technologies that seek to treat this problem. However, the main difference between all of them and goldincision is that they focus on improving circulation, improving the work of the lymphatic system and even reducing the fat around that structure I mentioned above – fibrosis. However, the structure is still there, trapped in the skin, and with time the “hole” starts to reappear. Sometimes due to weight gain, sometimes even due to the woman’s own monthly hormonal change, it can generate in a large number of women the famous swelling close to menstruation and with that the reappearance of cellulite.

What is the “goldincision” treatment?

Goldincision is an effective treatment because we focus exactly on the cellulite and not the surroundings. This procedure depends a lot on who does it and the result is not just attributed to the use of product X, Y or Z. It is a mixture of technique, science and art. In the procedure with a small needle and with the region anesthetized, we identify which fibrosis is responsible for the cellulite, and that’s it, we cut it in a timely manner, so that the results can be seen immediately. And to intensify the formation of collagen in the region and prevent cellulite from returning in the future, we associate a biostimulator, which is a product that we spread in the treated region and serves as a signal for our body to produce more collagen there in that region. What are the side effects and recovery:

Today the main risks of treatment are basically those that we have in any minimally invasive procedure. First, the complications that may occur are rare, do not pose a risk to the patient’s life, and are clinical situations that are completely treatable in the office. Even so, I always tell patients that the best way to deal with complications is to prevent them, that is, we take every precaution not to have them. An example of this is that I often choose to treat a very large area in two stages so that the body recovers between sessions. Another example is that I already include in the treatment all the creams and medications that the patient will use along with the compression shorts in the ideal size when she undergoes the treatment. This is a way we found to make life easier for the patient and ensure that she will have access to these items at the time of recovery, thus having an even better result.

Results:

The most effective way to visualize results is to ask someone who has done it. But I always make this very clear in consultations, I like to open the game and many times when the patient wants a certain procedure that will not bring the solution she is looking for, I choose not to do it at that moment, I talk well and make it clear that we will not have benefits. I like to sell solutions, not procedures. In the short term, I lose some sales, but I can safely say that patients like it when they realize that they would spend a lot of money and not get the result they are looking for.
