Vai na Fé: What guarantees the success of the soap opera that is moving TV?

The 7pm track was discredited and at a low level in terms of audience, since “Bom Sucesso”, by Rosane Svartann. Interestingly, it is precisely another work of hers, “Vai na Fé””, which has ensured the recovery of the lost breath, mainly in its predecessor, “Cara e Coragem”.

On the air since January of this year, the plot – which many believed would be gospel – surprises with each chapter shown. Not by chance, the author is already working on stretching her story, reaching 185 chapters.

In conversation with the broadcaster, the author then made the soap opera possible, with a black protagonist, a mother, belonging to a neo-Pentecostal family, who is faced with memories of the past and the temptations of “the world”.

On the last May 15th, the plot broke its record, with 26 points, the highest index of the day, surpassing prime time.

NO HYPOCRISY
If there was a time when the evangelical religion gained a pejorative status on Globo, as in “O Clone” (2001), when the wanton Karla (Juliana Paes) pretended to be a good girl, as well as the former porn actress Soninha Catatau (Paula Burlamaqui), from “Avenida Brasil” (2012), now the treatment is different.

Inserting passages from the Bible in the text, in a coherent and interesting way, Rosane Svartaman highlights not only respect, but recognition of a new reality. The IBGE predicts that in less than ten years, there will be more Evangelicals than Catholics in Brazil.

REPRESENTATIVENESS MATTERS
With the exception of stories that addressed slavery, “Vai na Fé” is the first soap opera in TV history that has 80% of black actors, including in the lead role, with Sheron Menezzes It is Samuel of Assisi.

It is worth mentioning that the entire cast shows total chemistry and harmony.

BUT, EVERYTHING HAS A BUT…

The public is still questioning why the network did not show the lesbian kiss between Clara (Regiane Alves) and Helena (Priscila Sztejnman).

The explanation: not to alienate the evangelical public, including those who migrated from the biblical soap operas on Record TV, to follow Globo’s contemporary and secular plot.
