Is white hair the new trend?

In the opinion of Alex Mendes, internationally awarded hair stylist, white hair refers to an empowered woman, more firm in herself and with maturity.

“The pandemic brought this new wave, women saw themselves with white hair in the pandemic, without being able to go to the salon or without being able to dye them at home, and thus, they took on the strands, seeing that it is also possible to be beautiful, without resorting to dyes,” he says.

But when we talk about gray hair, we cannot forget that just because the hair is no longer dyed, it doesn’t deserve care and special touches.

“White wires need monthly maintenance, so that the wires do not turn yellow. This can be done in the salon, with specific products or even at home, with purple shampoo, the one that blondes use to take care of the color or even with products that already exist on the market, especially for gray hair”, says hair stylist.

In addition, he comments that the hydration and maintenance of the cut must be up to date, so that the air of care and sophistication is not forgotten.

“To have beautiful hair, whether natural or dyed, it is extremely important to take care of the strands, using quality products, paying attention to maintaining hydration and cutting”, he points out.

Leave-in and products with thermal protection are essential for those who want to maintain the beauty and quality of the threads. “The sun’s rays, water, dryer, flat iron and even some types of products can interfere with the color of the threads, so it’s important to use them, as they oxidize (yellow) and dry out more easily”, he points out.
