Starship, ship that will take man to the Moon and Mars, has flight postponed

A Starshipcompany spaceship SpaceX, would make its first orbital flight this Monday (17). However, the billionaire’s company Elon Musk decided to postpone the journey of the rocket – which is already considered one of the most powerful in history – so that repairs can be made to the ship’s propellant, also known as “super heavy“.

The imposing rocket, 120 meters high (adding to the propellant super heavy) and nine meters in diameter, can carry up to one hundred people, it was developed with the daring purpose of transporting people and cargo to the Moon and Mars. Musk’s company has a contract with North American Space Agency (NASA) and has been responsible for transporting astronauts to International Space Station (ISS)in addition to the partnership to take man back to the moon, the program Artemis.

The orbital flight was rescheduled for April 20, according to the profile of the SpaceX at the twitter. The more ambitious goal for which it was conceived, however, could be achieved in 2025, when the company intends to take astronauts back to the surface of the Moon on the mission “Artemis 3“, in reference to the mythological goddess related to Earth’s natural satellite.

This trip will be the first return of man to the moon in a period of 50 years. A SpaceX aims to take tourists to nothing more, nothing less, than going around the moon. The first three missions of the Starship will be with space tourists and, two of them, performing the “walk” around the star.

At the end of 2022, the NASA had already accomplished the first mission of the Artemis ProgramThe “Artemis Mission 1“, an unmanned flight, which circled the moon’s orbit to test technologies essential for the program’s next trips. The mission “Artemis 2” should happen in 2024, it will make a similar circuit, without landing on the moon. The feat should happen in 2025, with the mission “Artemis 3“.
