Mental Health re-enacted in Sony’s new short film!

The Adventures of Miles Moralesprotagonist of the animations of “spiderverse”, have already become an absolute success. The last film in the franchise “Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse” broke box office records by becoming the biggest opening for a film in the sony pictures of history and has delighted audiences with its innovative aesthetics, impeccable soundtrack and, of course, the charisma of its protagonist, Miles Morales.

With that, Sony Pictures Animation, producer of the film, does not expect to stop there: last Monday (12), during the Annecy Animation Festival, in France, a new short film starring Miles Morales was presented. The event started on June 11th and runs until the 17th.

According to the American newspaper “The Hollywood Report“, the short will be called “The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story′′ (The Spider Inside Me: A Spider-Verse Story) and will address a delicate topic in the hero’s life: mental health. Between battling villains and studying for exams, Miles finds it difficult to keep his head at peace. The pressure of being a superhero and having to reconcile that with ordinary life, with tasks like paying attention to family and friends and studying causes Miles to have a panic attack and have to deal with anxiety. It has been reported that, in the short, Miles’ worries become a shadowy figure who invades his room along with a brood of spiders.

The short will be directed by Jarelle Dampier and written by Khaila Amazan. In addition to them, the production team includes visual effects supervisor Clara Chan and animation supervisor Joe Darko. The Sony team joins the LENS program, which aims to fund animation projects. The show’s producers, Michelle Raimo Kouyate and David Schulenburg, will also participate in the short. “The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story“ does not yet have a premiere date, but “Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse” is still on display.
