Director Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that Tekken 8 will have crossplay, making it the first game in the franchise to have this feature. With it, players from all platforms on which the game is released will be able to play with each other.
“Crossplay? Of course”, said Harada when answering a fan on twitteralso explaining that on PS4 and Xbox One it had already proposed crossplay for Tekken 7, but ran into conflicts between Sony and Microsoft “over their mutual interests (and the P2P security issue) and repeatedly refused”.
Tekken 8 is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam) and does not yet have a release date.
