Player encounters out of VRAM message when playing on Xbox Series S

A Borderlands 3 player, who goes by the name jokekiller94 on Reddit, was struck by an unusual error message while playing on the Xbox Series S, which warned him that the video memory (VRAM) had run out and that he should make sure that the video card meets the minimum requirements to run the game.

The message left the player confused, as the Xbox Series S is not a PC that uses a dedicated graphics card.

Apparently the S series can run out of VRAM…

Some users who commented on the situation suggested that this error is common when playing Borderlands 3 on Xbox Series S, citing a potential lack of optimization for this particular version. One of the users, Hattix, believes that the graphics engine may have misinterpreted the API error code, showing the strange message seen by jokekiller94. Other players believe this was caused by a memory leak.

Anyway, the error shows the challenge that developers face with the Xbox Series S, which is to make games run on it taking into account its low amount of available memory. With only 10GB, the optimization work on this console proves to be more challenging compared to that performed on the Xbox Series X, which has 16GB.
